Stories and flavors of Maribor

Why choose Stories and Flavours of Maribor?

Let me show you Maribor as we locals know it: simple, warm, and authentic. This is not a tour of landmarks, but a stroll where Maribor invites you closer, into the rhythm of conversation, the aroma of coffee, and small scenes that say more than a signboard ever could. We're not chasing dates, we're looking for character, how the city breathes today and how it gets under your skin. The tour is personal and interactive, I'll adjust the pace to you, so the city not only shows itself, but also responds. At the end, the story naturally meets the taste of the oldest vine, and you will understand that stereotypes about good wine are primarily part of the story that nicely rounds off the day.

What you will experience

We meet in the city center and begin with a brief introduction to set expectations and pace. We take a leisurely stroll through the city and, at selected points, discuss topics that relate the city to contemporary life. We don't just list facts, we observe details and connect the past with the present. Questions are welcome, and I adapt the focus of the tour to the group as we go along. After about an hour and a half, we arrive at the oldest vine, where we sit down and continue with a guided tasting of three local wines and snacks made from local ingredients. For those who do not drink alcohol, we prepare a non-alcoholic alternative. At the end, we will summarize our impressions and, if you wish, you will receive personal recommendations for a pleasant end to the day.
